Protection and promotion of human rights constitute the principal concern of the Commission. Pursuant to these objective, the Commission is committed to discharge its functions assigned to it under the Act with transparency and autonomy. The autonomy of the Commission emanates, inter alia, from the procedures relating to the appointment of the Members, the security of their tenure, their stature, the safeguards provided under Section 23 and 24 of the Act and the status accorded to the Commission under overall scheme of the Act. The financial autonomy of the Commission is implied under provisions of Section 33 of the Act. The procedures adopted by the Commission to conduct its proceedings, the suo motu action taken on complaints regardless of the sources received, the openness of its proceedings and the placement of its reports before the State Legislature are key to the strength and transparency of the Commission’s functioning.
The Objects of which the Society Will be:-a. Promote the inherent rights of all human beings, regardless of race, sex, nationality, ethnicity, language, religion, or any other status;
b. Promote and make people aware of the rights protected and guaranteed by the Constitution of India;
c. Raising awareness and educate people from the backward communities on various rights and safeguards from those provided in the Constitution of India;
d. Promote full respect for the economic, social and cultural rights of people from all communities;
e. Raise awareness of the law and provide legal aid to poor and marginalized people ;
f. To help the victim of injustice and provide them assistance and advice;
g. To work for the prevention and elimination of child labor and other forms of exploitation through integrated approaches that strengthen child protection systems;
h. To work for the prevention and elimination of abuse, exploitation, violence and neglect of children;
i. To work for the prevention and elimination of child marriage and empower girls with information, skills and support networks;
j. To work for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and work for the empowerment of women by providing various services to victims such as shelter, medical assistance , conciliation, counseling, financial and entrepreneurial assistance, legal aid and legal literacy;
k. To promote the empowerment of girls and women as independent individuals with full rights;
l. To promote the principle of equality of all cultures and the people within them, inter-cultural exchange, and specific cultural skills;
m. To take initiatives to help destitute elderly men and women below the poverty line living alone;
n. To work for the prevention and elimination of shame and abuse of senior citizens and elderly;
o. To provide information, support and services to people with disabilities and their families and give them the necessary vocational training not for profit, and motivating them to become independent and self-sufficient;
p. Sensitize people of backward communities to the value of education and encourage them to send their children to school;
q. To work towards reducing the debt burden of farmers and promoting soil fertility and overall productivity, planning the use of water facilities and maintaining the level of production;
r. Promote environmental awareness and educate the public about pollution control measures to be taken;
s. Promote the right to health and organize free health checkup camps;
t. To provide medical information and assistance to poor and helpless people and provide free ambulance service to people in need;
u. Raise awareness and educate people of backward communities on HIV/AIDS and STDs through awareness programs;
v. To provide short-term assistance and relief to poor and needy people and to help improve the framework of poverty eradication policies;
w. To arrange and organize lectures, debates, discussions, seminars and excursions for the diffusion of knowledge;
x. To publish or cause to be published useful literatures, magazines, etc. without any motive for profit;
y. To promote and encourage literary, cultural, political, religious and scientific advancement not for profit;
z. Educate men and women and help them advance their livelihoods, health, life and social organization not for profit;
aa. To help the aged, sick, helpless and indigent people;
bb. To alleviate the sufferings of animals or other living creatures;
cc. To promote self help groups, especially of women, for their social and economic development not for profit.
